Well, to be honest, I had thought they would do better. The test wasn't that hard, my students told me themselfs. But only 2 out of 13 got a PASS on this first test mainly about Maxwell's Equations (which means a score over 4, since over here they get scores between 1 and 7).
They promised they would do better on the next two tests, though....
