Grand Central Station NYC

Can you get a more typical NYC experience than watching a couple of guys performing old school hip-hop underneath Grand Central Station in the subway station? I think not!

Last day in Chile

It has been way too long between updates, I know. I blame lousy internet connections and big city drawing my attention. Anyway, to start off again, see a picture I took my last full day in Chile. Claudia and I went to the local Zoo. It's located on a small mountain inside the city, so while you're looking at some exotic animals you get a really nice view of the city as well.

.. a lo pobre!

There is nothing poor about it, but you can get anything here "a lo pobre". It means with fried eggs and fried unions on top, as in this case a nice sample of Chilean steak. Happy 18th of Septiembre (Independance Day)!

Chirimoya

cher·i·moy·a  (chr-moi) also chir·i·moy·a (chîr-)
n.
1. A tropical American tree (Annona cherimola) having heart-shaped, edible fruits with green skin and white aromatic flesh.
2. The fruit of this plant.

I'm totally hooked on this fruit, especially it's juice. It's refreshing, not too sweet and according to Mark Twain "the most delicious fruit known to men." It still amazes me that I have never encountered it in Europe. So much for the globalized world...

What better way to start off than to let you know that since last Thursday my nephew Sem Eugèn Benjamin was born. Still waiting for the pictures, but he and his mother are doing well. Welcome, little man.
